I have seen one or two of these apps around just can't remember any names.

I am looking for something that will scan and download all updated drivers for my PC.

Anything you guys would recommend?

You can get them. Some hardware sites even link to them to help you , for you to find that you have to end up forking over 20$ to be able to install a driver. (Its one of my few pet peeves that Manufacturers are so damn lazy and in some cases dishonest in the way they do that) Unless you need to live on the bleeding edge the only drivers you really need to continually update are your graphics drivers (and then only if your a gamer or having issues) Most of the other kit will work really well with the qualified drivers that Windows update will give you the option of installing. Maybe someone has had a better experience then me ;_)

Windows update. Then just do video card drivers manually.

I have used the driver pack DRP or something similar to that name, it is basically 3GB to download then you stick the disc into almost any comp and it installs the drivers for it automatically.

WHat about DRIVERPACK SOLUTION... Has anybody used it before?

I would steer clear and do it manually. An app can be an security breach if not handled with care.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Will manually update for now. I will rely on MS updates to take care of most of them and manually update GFX drivers.

Personally I don't even let Microsoft handle my driver updates other than GFX, also had problems with a network card and sound.

I've used DriverMax and it works adequately. But the free version only lets you install two drivers a day.

More than adequate though for finding obscure drivers.

DriverMax rescued me again today! I like this program so much now I have gone and registered it!

Client brought a computer to me. She said it was hit by lightning over the weekend and the USB ports were not working.
I noticed that there was one really obscure driver yellow flagged in the device manager, but no matter how I tried to install the drivers, it would not.
Eventually out of frustration I let DriverMax do it's thing and it installed. USB ports now working again! :)
