apple 30" LCD

Hi,
few days ago i bought apple 30" lcd monitor on auction at very good price.tho im not a apple user. if someone can help me i want to use with my dell laptop inspiron 9400 and as a tv as well, can i use as a tv and monitor?? what sort of cables i have to buy.. do i need any software??. thanks.

I don't think that the Dell 9400 will run the 30" inch at full res. it would most likely only run at 1280*800, not 2560*1600. You will have to buy an DVI cable, but their are different types, i think it's, 'dual-dvi'. You should not need any software.

dell 9400 res is 1920 x 1200. what you think.?

Yep, I think it could, but the picture will look blurry or distorted.
1280*800. which is 4 times smaller than 2560*1600, should not look distorted, because 1 pixel covers 4 full pixels; while 1920 covers fraction pixels, which should make the monitor produce a distorted, or blurry picture, i think.
