China Unicom said Tuesday it has moved closer to a deal with US hi-tech giant Apple to become the first company authorised to sell the iPhone in the world's largest mobile market.

and iFone was the first to sell authorised knock-offs (The Chinese government will chop a guys head off publicly for hijacking a container ship, but they sit back and enjoy dim-sun with the guy who manufactures knock-off: hence authorised, albeit without a signature on a piece of paper.)

I still fail to see the requirement for that piece of paper in China.
