Don't buy grey imports, patience is a virtue ;)
The problem is that they are much cheaper. Core is not playing ball therefor it just makes sense to get them imported.
besides. they are of such good quality they "hardly" ever need service.

Hi... My first post. After Apple's announcement that international shipping would be delayed to late May '10, I called the iStore in Sandton... According to the guys in store, they aren't expecting shipments of iPads 'till September... That's a lot of patience...

2nd gen will be better than the 1st, now that's patience. Then again, it's just a toy and toys should be bought on EBAY.

2nd gen will be an incremental upgrade. It's stupid to wait another year for a new iPad.

As much as I love Apple products I cannot understand what's the hype with the iPad? Its a tablet computer they have been out for sometime now & just because Steve Jobs has finally jumped on the train everybody is gaga about it. The iPod was a bigger event than this over hyped device. The iPod changed the way we listen to music, the iPad will not chamge the way we compute things. Its nothing more than a pretty touch screen computer geeze get a grip.

Okay seriously WHEN ARE THE BRINGING THE DARN THING I WANT ONE :p bloody Steve Jobs got me drooling for a freaking electronic device. The geek in me is freaking out :D

iPad is a toy. It's like doll collectors going crazy because Volks is having a new limited edition "Dollpa" figure for $5,000.
Reminds me of the Battle of the Bulge Movie - German SS Panzer commander:"Planes, toys, clocks... but what do I fight with?!"

Wow that toy litany of yours is getting old. Been using the iPad for work (and entertainment) purposes since I got it.

It's a toy for most people and hence people get excited about it. The hoi polloi wouldn't be so excited about a more efficient way to work or get stuff done. Also don't take this personally, did I say anywhere "assagai is playing with his toy"? No. I speak in general because most people need the iPad as they need a toy. And toys are for entertainment.

Everything is a toy that isn't strictly work related. What exactly is your point? Doesn't mean it can't be exciting or groundbreaking.

So toilet paper is a toy too then? The iPad is a toy for most people, that's my point. It's being sold as such.

What exactly is your point? Doesn't mean it can't be exciting or groundbreaking.

It's not ground breaking. It's not cure for cancer. It's not a new way of getting objects into orbit. It's not anything new of significance to anyone but toy collectors. This is just a response to the hype about it. I mean order it if you must but to go hysterical with anticipation over a toy seems bizarre to me.
