I can't see what would convince someone with a recent model to upgrade to the new iPhone, iWatch or Airpods. None of the new features are revolutionary or impactful enough to the average consumer, and their current products are pretty great already. Well I tried the 13 mini but find it too...

So iPhone 14 Pro $100.00 more than the iPhone 13 Pro at launch ?
So possibly R25,500 - R26,000.00 ? That's not *too* bad I guess

Samsung phones aren't worth buying cash given the discounts they give on contracts. iPhones not so much, at least not in this country. The Samsung give more value over iPhone here over the term of a contract.
I'd be scared to take the plunge and buy a Samsung phone. The price seems to reduce exponentially over a relatively short space of time, and with so many deals and offers of free kit etc, I'd be afraid of missing out.

Yeah I remember when I got the Note8 there was some sweet freebies e.g. the U Flex BT Headphones were the preorder gift we received. This was shortly followed by a DEX promotion at all major malls nationwide, I literally got up one Saturday morning, drove to Sandton mall and showed them my brand new Note8 at the promo stand and they gave me a DEX Docking Station + BT Keyboard, thereafter there was some other promotional where I got a free gold smart flip case to.
I doubt we will ever see something like that with Apple and I have made my peace with it
