Apple fixes iPhone 4S battery problem

Title seems a little misguided. The problem was not just affecting 4S users but any iDevices that was running iOS 5.

I also suffered from the battery issue on my iPhone 4.

The software update, iOS 5.0.1 also adds multi-tasking gestures to early versions of the iPad and closes a security loophole that could have duped users into loading malware onto their iPhones and iPads through Apple’s App Store.

I thought Crapple didn't have any malware in their app store due to them controlling everything so tightly. Oh wait, the controlling was about money not malware.

I never noticed any drop in battery performance with my iPhone 4 on iOS 5, neither the iPad or iPhone 3GS for that matter.

Well you were lucky. Not everyone had issues. But some did. Including me.

Nov. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Apple Inc. customers say devices with the new iOS 5 operating system are still suffering from weak battery life, even after the company issued a software update meant to fix the malfunction.

Users took to message boards on Apple’s website to complain that the software remedy delivered yesterday hasn’t corrected the flaw. The criticisms first surfaced after Apple released the mobile operating system last month, in conjunction with its new iPhone 4S

Is your iPhone’s battery faring better or worse after Apple’s iOS 5.0.1 update yesterday afternoon? The update—Apple’s first offered over the air, direct to phones running iOS 5.0—is supposed to remedy “bugs affecting battery life,” as well as add multitasking gestures for the original iPad, fix a bug with iCloud documents and improve voice recognition for those in Australia who use dictation.

But this morning, some users claim the so-called “battery life fix” hasn’t rectified their troubles—and for a few, it may have made the situation worse.

Apple released an updated version of its latest operating system Thursday, promising to fix the battery problems users had reported with iOS 5 — but apparently it’s no magic potion.

While some users sent in early reports saying that the update was, to quote one Wired reader, “nothing short of amazing,” Apple forums were still flooded with complaints that the update did absolutely nothing to stop the battery leaks.

Seems the battery issue hasn't been solved for all
