Apple iOS 9.3 users hit by app crashes

One major thing iOS 9.3 did fix was the "Attachment not available to download.." problem in the default mail application.

Anyone experiencing very poor battery life after upgrading to 9.3?

Third party app settings at the bottom of the settings menu has vanished... Don't know if it should be like this or if I must do a clean install?

Battery life seems about on par - speed wise my 5 seems way snapper.

I was going to say yes, I've just checked and mine's disappeared but I scrolled down to double check and it was there again…

So clean install it is then tonight on the iPhone 6S... I've had revert my iPhone 6 back to 9.2.1 because 9.3 absolutely butchered it.

I have the Safari links bug and it is extremely irritating. You can't click on a link anywhere (even in some apps) - nothing happens. Long clicking on a link in Safari/Mail completely freezes the app. You can search for something on Google, but you can't go to any of the result pages.

Apparently it is particularly prevalent on phones with Booking.com installed. As I understand it, Apple allow app developers to update a global list of URL's on the phone that should open in their apps rather than the browser. Booking.com loads 2.4mb of URL's into the global URL repository which totally borks iOS any time you click on a link. But it could also be other apps that have loaded URL's.

Not really the app developers problem (although probably not what was intended by the feature) - more a weakness in the iOS implementation. Even though Booking.com has already fixed the issue and reduced their links, installing the update doesn't fix the problem.

In fact, removing Booking.com, and even wiping and restoring the phone from a backup, or downgrading to 9.2.1 don't seem to resolve the issue once it has appeared.

They need to fix this quickly, because it makes the phone useless for browsing/mail, etc.

My neighbour tried to update his iPad to 9.3, but it bricked the device - hung perpetually saying the server couldn't be contacted to authenticate. Couldn't roll back and couldn't get into the system. About 4 hours on the phone (over two days) to a helpful support lady in Greece managed to get a workaround which required a complete system reset/wipe. Now his battery has less than half its normal life. Ooops.

i have a 4s for work. every update makes it slower and performance gets worse. particularly annoying when you open something and it hangs for a minute before you're able to use it (email, safari, music.... etc). decided that i'm ignoring future updates. apple already slows down their devices when a new model is lanched, don't need that crap from the software as well.

That has been the case for 5-year old devices as long as they have been in existence.

On topic: no issues with 6s Plus; iPad Mini 2 & iPad 3 on 9.3.

All running smooth.

I just had one random reboot yesterday when using Siri on the 6s Plus.

Not really. On Android you can install apps like Boot manager etc. and tweak it. I can even overclock my 'ol Note N7000.

The point was that there should be no surprise when old technology cannot keep up with the latest software that is more advanced which requires stronger CPUs.

But then Apple shouldn't keep updating it.

Apple is very quick to point out that their devices are running IOS x.y, but they forgot to mention the device splits.
Even though the devices are running the latest OS, older devices have less features (no night shift, no air drop, etc.)
