Apple iPhone 16e (formerly iPhone SE 2025)

You okes seem to missing the "hack".

At this stage of the game no one should be buying the 16e at MSRP.

There are tons of reputable buyers/sellers/dealers offering it for R10k (boxed new) or at times just under then it becomes a hell of a deal.

Trust me, I know.

You then have a good looking powerful iPhone with immensely strong battery life for not all that much money relatively speaking.

Yes the new iPhones drop next month but the price gap from this 16e to the next model up is still substantial. I don't do contracts & buy cash I refuse to drop over R15k for a phone.

Getting my proper povo spec case coming tomorrow.

Backup & restore old phone to new (offline or GTFO) worked seamless bar MS Auth (go figure, need to get IT to sort that out) besides that happy all round & not bothered by the notch, single cam, lack of Magsafe.

I was actually in a MacRumours thread the other day saying that the 16e is such an underrated and overlooked model, battery life is showing some of the new iPhone models flames!

I take this "reports: with a large pinch of salt.

Just last week there was a 'report" of the iPhone Air being a "failure" a sequel was canned & just today I saw something claiming the opposite about a sequel for the Air.

The 16e is a good phone if you get it on sale and/or fit in it's target market.
 
is this a good deal? I have a very old iPhone XR and need to upgrade but was just waiting for the prices to come down a bit. I wanted something that will last a bit longer with software updates as well.

Amazon has the 17e for R13 499. Don't be cheap, spend the extra money for more storage and a newer model.

Yes good deal.
No need to spend more for 17e that is same phone, except if you really need that extra storage.
No need to spend more for Iphone Air, as it battery does not last long.
If you really want to spend more and get something better. Spend 5k more and get the standard 17
 
So what is the best deal right now for a new iPhone?
When will the prices come down? When they launch the new phone?
