Is anyone else keen on this? It's rumoured (basically confirmed via the Spigen leak) to have the iPhone 14 chassis, but with a single 48MP shooter, a notch instead of the Dynamic Island and USB-C instead of the Lightning connector.

I still like my 11 Pro (love the compact 5.8" display) so this is what I would go for if the price is right. Unfortunately mine has the infamous camera wobble, and the battery life has taken a dive lately, which is fair given that it is going on six years old now.

I know that traditionally the SE's never sold too well, but I am hoping that we do get it here for a decent price and that we aren't price gouged too badly once it lands.

It’s basically the perfect phone, 6" display with tiny bezels, anything bigger is too much size/weight.
I have the SE 2022 currently and it's a great phone.

I wouldn't get too hopeful about the price, the SE 2022 sold for R13k so this will probably come in at R15k+
That being said the SE moniker has a negative connotation so they fortunately nose dive in value secondhand not too long after launch so for once you can pick up a decent iPhone and not break the bank.

The OLED is a surprise, but at the same time they are probably at a point where it doesn’t make sense to make something specifically different if the entire line is using it.

Would be the perfect upgrade for my mother still stuck on iPhone 8.

Size wise it's a big jump on the SE2020 which I use daily and love for the size... pity

Pretty much exactly what I said it would be over a year ago. I was hoping the one thing I would be wrong about is the size, make it mini please.

I don’t think it’s as big as you are expecting because the screen size includes the huge wasted bezel areas at the top and bottom of the screen of the current SE and there’s no home button. Considering the bezels are tiny 6.1” is a near perfection screen size.

5.8" screen gang checking in!

The actual device size should be more or less the same, but there is a better screen-to-body ratio with the iP16 versus the 11 Pro (86 vs 82%)

I know many that prefer the Pro to the Pro max simply because its easier to hold.

This one will certainly help though with the much better camera, the usb c charging, and the rest is pretty normal. 60hz isnt an issue. Most tvs, monitors etc is 60hz.

We can ask those Afrikaaners Amerikaaners to ship it back to us in some bags of wheat.

Apple now said to be launching next iPhone SE "by next week"

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman most recently said Apple would make the oft-rumored iPhone SE 4(or iPhone 16E) official this week. Today he's back with a slightly altered timeline. Now he's saying the company's most affordable smartphone will be refreshed "by next week".

According to Gurman, a "smaller announcement" is imminent, possibly happening today. Then, on Friday, there will be some kind of announcement relating to the Apple Vision Pro, while a refreshed MacBook Air powered by Apple's M4 chip is coming "within weeks".

Interestingly, Gurman hasn't mentioned a launch event for the iPhone SE 4, so this might just get official via a press release - perhaps fitting for the cheapest smartphone in Apple's arsenal, but on the other hand maybe it deserves more? Especially given how it's a lot of people's entry point into the Apple ecosystem.

Anyway, the iPhone SE 4 has long been rumored to look like the iPhone 14, sporting the same 6.06" FHD+ LTPS OLED screen with 60 Hz refresh rate and a notch for Face ID and the front camera. It will have a single rear camera (perhaps the main one from the iPhone 16), a water resistance rating of some sort, and it will be powered by the Apple A18 chip paired with 8GB of RAM to enable Apple Intelligence features.

How can you okes spit out a price when the product is not even announced yet? You can predict sure but some okes are talking like they're the CEO of Core or something  ;)

Comrades, do you honestly think Lord Trump will allow peasants to taint the image of Apple by allowing the new iPhone SE to land here for anything less than R 16 500?
