There doesn’t seem to be much clarity on this, personally from what I see whether or not the SIM 17 Pro Max has a smaller battery than eSIM only, the battery capacity and battery life jump from my current 15 PM is quite significant…also one has to check the actual capacity their phone comes with, you might find a typical 17 PM comes with about +5000mAh and a typical eSIM only comes with +5100mAh give or take.
Also eSIM only 17 PM could have more battery capacity due to mmWave 5G in the USA versus non-mmWave outside the USA. There is a lot at play, lol.

I am not too worried about it.

I am sure we will see comparisons soon after launch that should clarify it all.

iPhone 17 Pro Max pre-order delivery in the US slips to October

Pre-orders for the new iPhone 17 family have been live since yesterday in the 63 countries part of the first wave of countries. This list includes the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Türkiye, the UAE, Vietnam, and others.

Going through most of these official online Apple stores shows that pre-order delivery is expected to take place on September 19, the official launch date stated by Apple. However, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, in particular, seems to be so popular in the US pre-orders that its expected delivery window on Apple.com now says “3-4 weeks” or the beginning of October at the earliest.

After exploring the various storage and color options, it appears that all of them are affected proportionally, so don’t expect to find an odd combination that will let you get a Pro Max on September 19. That said, there might, very well, still be some scheduled in-store unit pickups on that date. Plus, this is just the official Apple online store. Carriers and third-party sellers could still have stock.

And in case you were wondering, here are the starting prices for the iPhone 17 family in various markets. As a reminder, all of the new devices start with 256GB storage. As another reminder, the Air is being delayed in China due to some regulatory issues.

Haha i really couldn't choose, it was so difficult this year between the 17 Pro and Air, I almost bought 2 phones lol. I thought i could alternate depending if i'm going out, what i'm wearing, or at work etc.

But i finally decided on the 17 Pro Cosmic Orange 512GB

Looking at Preorders it seems the market doesn’t care much for Blue, most going Silver and Orange in the absence of Black.
