Apple iPhone launched

I hope Cisco wins :p
Apple and Cisco where in talks about licensing the name, seems like this is just a negotiating tactic by Cisco, they obviously want bigger cut now that they see the 8% jump in Apple share price.
Maybe they shouldn't push too hard though or we'll get the ?Phone (same as with the AppleTV) come June.

/me likes Cisco more than me likes Apple :D

Yeah, i can see why, with all that enterprise level switch gear out there, just the kind of thing to use to pull chicks!:D

Boy was I wrong about that  Cingular has confirmed that consumers will have to take out a two year contract. http://crunchgear.com/2007/01/10/apple-iphone-faq/
and how much is this mandatory contract per month? :(

What I'd like to know is if there is a way to disable the phone portion while ur on a plane? The deals with the airlines to add ipod dock connectors to planes makes a lot of sense now - but its a bit of a waste if ur forbidden from turning on the device in the first place.
i'm sure they'll have an off-line profile, most smart phones, or at least symbian phones, have one.
