I think that has a lot more to do with marketing than quality. They proud themselves in spending billions on making the name known all over the world. Granted when I was in Malaysia and funny enough China I was soooo glad to see a McDonalds it wasn't even funny. Not because the burgers where any good, it was just that it was something that I recognized and knew how it would taste compared to the other fast food in the area.
