Does anyone know of a place that imports Apple products or a company that stocks the below Apple unit.

Mac Studio M1 Ultra (64GB RAM | 2TB SSD | 20-core)

Not looking for the laptop or the iMac; specifically the Mac Studio unit without the screen.

One of my clients requires it for business use.

It literally got announced yesterday and doesn't go on sale until March 18, so you won't find one locally yet.

When they are available, iStore will be your easiest option most likely. Apple are managed locally by Core Group.

IStore, Macshack and DigiCape are your best bets, but you looking at the first week of April at the earliest.

Yes as mentioned it was literally announced yesterday, and only available from March 18 (but that’s in the States, etc), will as always take a few extra weeks to reach SA.

So definitely no one stocking it yet

Would be interesting to know what work the client does that requires that level of horsepower (bhp).
Was wondering the same thing…literally within 24 hours of it being announced globally he decided, I NEED this for my business, and then he tasked OP to “find stock” asap

No word of 'asap' in my post.

Just on the lookout for competitive pricing and the best place to get it from that also has great after service.

There no such thing, those are the 3 main sources. Apple and DigiCape sell at the same price, MacShack are grey importers so more expensive for new hardware, cheaper for old hardware.

Every other place that may list it WILL be more expensive, but new you are not finding it cheaper than Apple without getting on a plane and fetching one yourself from the States.

Lol, I guess I would hope for someone to purchase it and then sell it a few thousands cheaper on gumtree
Lol…why would anyone want to do that? But in all fairness, yes someone could buy it, use it for a week and decide they don’t want it anymore, and sell it for a bit cheaper since it’s not new anymore, as with any Apple or other tech product.

But in this case, it won’t happen for a long time, as it’s not even available in SA yet, and demand for it will be high for some time to come.

And yes I know you did not use the term “asap” in your post, it was merely a lighthearted post in response to you and your client’s request for one (and because of the “funny” factor since you thought it is already on sale here)

In any case, some useful info - traditionally Apple products are sold in SA via iStore, Digicape, Takealot or Incredible Connection. (Cellular networks as well if you include contracts etc)

Pricing between them is 99% exactly the same. There is not a certain entity that is significantly or noteworthy cheaper than the others. For best after sales service (or service in general) I could recommend Digicape above the others.

Of course any one of them could have specials on from time to time.

Sign up for iStores’ newsletter to receive notification on when it will launch in SA, or keep an eye on social media

Be wary of Gumtree/Marketplace etc listings, or any other site you may come across that perhaps sell it at outrageously lower prices. Scams are part of our life, it’s not worth it to try and save a few rands on something so expensive. After all, we’re not talking about a R600 microwave or R200 computer mouse here.

I’m confused, why wouldn’t your client just walk into a retail shop and buy it themselves rather than pay yet another middle man will fully knowing that the retail pricing is public?

If you wanted to sell it at retail pricing then you need to become a distributor for Core which requires a whole lot of boxes to be ticked.

In all fairness a person who spends ±R70k on a computer is unlikely to just use it for a week and then decide they don't want it anymore.
For majority cases, it will be a well researched decision to buy it, so finding a "deal" on something like this in the first few weeks since release will be borderline impossible.
