Apple Macbook Air or Macbook Pro

The new Macbook Pro's are really awesome. I got the 15" Quad-Core i7. Head-to-head with my Desktop PC (3.2GHz Core2 Quad), doing identical render tests in Media Encoder - My MBP was on average 40% faster!!
 
Just played around with both. FML. MBA is making things very difficult.

It's screen is amazing - and (cannot believe I'm saying this), so friggin' light...

[edit]: Having calmed down a bit - I know which decision makes more sense. So it should be a no-brainer. I will keep telling myself that.

Typing this on my new Macbook Pro 13"... :)

Still getting used to everything Mac - but a few hours in and I'm starting to make sense of it...

Coming from a old laptop that saw 1,75 hours of battery life before needing to be plugged in - I am in heaven... Finding my way around smartly - but still much to learn... Spending equal amounts of time on the web, seeking out websites and advice forums to explain those tiny little things that are not covered in the quick guides etc... But smiling all the way...

It's well worth learning a bunch of keyboard shortcuts in OS X.

Visit the forums at iphoneza.co.za for lots of Mac tips and advice. Myself and quite a few others have posted truckloads of Mac info there.

MacBook Pro 13 inch Retina display has been developed. It was tested using Geekbench. It might be released end of this year.

I have had the Air for 2 years now, and loved it. Do lots of photo and video editing even on it, and its keeps up well for such a tiny machine (mostly due to solid state of course).

Recently got the Macbook Pro Retina (512gb), and wow! Its super fast, nothing, but nothing comes close to this beast.

Depends on your budget, but I would say Air is an excellent machine, and very capable.
Macbook Pro is still king of the mountain, but of course you pay more, and carry a bigger machine around.

Now of course Apple released the 13inch MBP, right in the middle of the 2. May also be a very good option...

The (made in the USA) OWC Macbook Pro Retina replacement drive beats the Samsung SSD in terms of speed and longetivity. It's also cheaper. I'd go with that.
 
+1 for the MB Air. I have a 13' MBP at home (80% web browsing & 20% work (geoprocessing and mapping)). I also tend move around the house a lot, so I could use a lighter Mac :)
