Apple MagicMouse Not Tracking ( Cursor not moving )

SO
Magic Mouse old version with batteries
Was working 100% when I was last using the Mac Mini
Have not used it for a few days and when I fired it up -- NO hello magic mouse
The gestures all work and the mouse connects OK even shows % battery charge
BUT
NO tracking at all

I have tried all the "fixes" I could find online buit so far nothing is "fixing"
Hardware problem and mouse KAPUT ?

My M$ BT notebook mouse ( a number of years old apaprently no longer in production ) connects and works 100%
( Without gestures -- of course )

Anyone have a Magic mouse for sale .... ?
This will be my THIRD one -- whoever said Apple hardware was "robust" ?????

Sounds fücked up. I have the same mouse x 3 and all of them are just fine. And quite old. However, I did have a problem with my work one (newest) on my iMac where it stopped tracking in Excel - restarting Excel fixed that. Yesterday, it stopped tracking in Mail. Still doesn't but it tracks everywhere else. I will have to restart Mail and see if that fixes it. The iMac is Yosemite, by the way.

Does the light come from the laser at all? Not sure if one could ever see that in the first place.

I’m guessing the laser has died or disconnected.
