Apple Never Invented Anything

You tend to be a crusader. That's the path you should move away from.

If a "crusader" is now understood to be someone who will stand firm for what he believes in and considers as important then I will be a "crusader" on here till I stop participating or get banned. I always understood "crusader" to stand for aggression, violence and even injustice ... which I see as the opposite of what I'm doing by opposing what I would call Apple's Crusade. Ironic.

Crusader just means you tend to get a bit overwrought and blustery over relatively trivial matters. When basically all we want to do is debate about tech in a light forumy way, you take it all so overseriously that it's almost impossible to do so.

Cerebus, as I already stated what is "trivial" to you is not trivial to me. You have no appointment on here to judge what is trivial and what is not. iFans don't like my current path but so be it. Does the rule of lekker forumly also applies to places like PD section? Or is it just when we discuss Apple?

And you have no appointment on here to judge that I'm a religious hypocrite but it doesn't stop you.

Anyway you're actually entitled to loathe Apple, I'm not Apple's apologist (Appologist?). It just isn't a whole lot of fun debating someone so totally embittered. So don't be surprised if you tend to get ignored.

Way too much drama. As far as i'm concerned Samsung started copying Apple way too closely and Apple done the right thing slapping them on the wrist. This will be better for consumers, because it will force Samsung to innovate a bit, which oddly enough is exactly what we saw with the Galaxy S3. Samsung's focus on original design is beginning to increase.

Without Apple defending itself(it is certainly possible for them to go too far) what we would have is the world's tech companies simply waiting for Apple to do all the hard work and then copying whatever they came up with year after year.

Have a look at all the blatant macbook air clones.

I see everyone getting so heated because their beloved Samsung is in court, boo hoo, who cares, Samsung are a massive company who can look after themselves. If there is no merit to Apple's claims then they would lose in court.

Big companies sue each other all the time.

The only time i have a problem with suing is when a massive company uses its money to overwhelm a small mom and pop store with its legion of lawyers, but when tech giants fight i couldn't care less as long as it's a fair trial.

Magnifique, marvelous!!! I got tears.

Did you even see the pictures that was posted in this thread which shows how Apple copied Braun? The only thing Apple is good at is patenting "their" designs and taking other companies to court for copying Apple's copied designs.

And why didn't Braun sue them? If they felt aggrieved they had a right to, like everyone else.

Maybe it was because the products were separated by decades and in different categories?

And because they were the result of an artistic admiration and craftmanship, and not a tawdry kirf.

..and you expect to sway the ideologues with an argument like that? Way too high level dude. :p

So obviously Samsung should just say it's a result of an artistic admiration and craftmanship.

You believe in Santa Claus too?

If Apple can exploit a corrupt legal system(your idea) then what is stopping Samsung from doing the same?

Their market cap is a few $100 billion btw.

Waste of space then. I'll leave the rest to read it. I find it idiotic, not ironic.

A little context, the article was written by Jean-Louis Gassée and anyone who would like to intimate that he is an idiot will have to have some lofty credentials to back up that assertion.

Apple happened to get a juror who could at best be described as biased, and he allowed that bias to influence the rest of the jury. He pretty much openly admitted to not only ignoring the trial evidence, but also the directive in regard to the amount of damages that can be awarded.

But even with honest jurors trials come down to whoever manages to do a better job of bamboozling them. Merit and facts are peripheral.

No credentials of any kind are required to assert it is idiotic. A detailed argument perhaps, but certainly no credentials.

So this is just co-incidental then? :

I had a case like that before the Apple or Samsung ones came out. It was some no-name brand.
