Sorry but holy ****! R2200 for a "pencil"!

Yes I know it's way more complex than that.

Tell what's your take on the Pro? What sold it for you?

^ my iPad Pro test drive at iStore late last year.
Always thought a Wacom Cintiq will be cool for photo editing but the price is mad for a one trick pony. Now I have a very fast tablet with an excellent screen for movies and to read magazines, while also having a photo editing tablet that are better than a Cintiq.

Ja – my eyes are watering at the thought of forking out what is a price-equivalent of a laptop, but might just...

Always used my Adonit Jot Pro to take handwritten meeting notes in Notability, and do a fair amount of annotating of pdfs etc.,... Pencil is looking like it could be of great use in both instances... It's the latter that would be the drawcard, rather than the Pro per se, but the multitasking functionality does help...

Million dollar question would be whether or not Apple rolls out the Pencil functionality to the next iPad Air 3... If they do, then the Pro is somewhat less appealing... Decisions, decisions... I might just wait until the next WWDC to see what happens, before deciding...

We do pay a lot for Apple products here in ZA. Unfortunately its the nature of the beast. Also, be careful when comparing US prices because unless you're lying on the customs forms when it gets to ZA and you add the courier processing fees (i often refer to it as daylight robbery) and customs, VAT etc you are sometimes only about R100-R200 off ZA pricing.

As regards the anti-Apple comments, they are best ignored. If using Apple Pencil and what it does for you is worth R1999, buy it. If it doesn't, don't buy it. its simple, and its why we have Samsung, Sony and so many other brands. Not everyone will like Apple, not everyone will like Sony and so forth.

My 2c is that out of the many Apple products i've owned i've found them to be nothing more than efficient, quality-built and problem-free for my needs be it entertainment or business. So i will always buy Apple products. If someone else doesn't feel that way so be it.

lol. Sounds like you buy Apple products to make yourself feel like you've arrived.
