That is a colossal **** up. They need to fix their testing and their code style.

Testing yes; by code style I assume you mean pervasive use of curly braces? If so I doubt it'll make any difference -- negative testing is what's needed.

All the majors (Apple, Google, Microsoft, ...) make mistakes; an unfortunate side effect of the human element. Financial value and size provide no guarantee on code quality...
 

By turning the PC(Mac) into a determinate state of "OFF" and disconnecting the power cable as well?
