Apple "rips off devs" over iOS 5 features: Wi-Fi Sync, iCloud, etc.

Nope, but he then knew something is up so could have protected his "invention" by filing for get protection, be it a patent & trademark. In fact if he feels so strong about his invention he can still sue them for loss of income, might take longer but if found guilty Apple could face paying a large amount.
 
Henry Ford used wheels on his Model T. Where did he get that idea? Should we all hate Ford for not using square wheels instead?

There half a dozen or more apps on the app store making use of wireless syncing protocols, I use 2, AVPlayer and FlashDrive. This story is more to do with a disgruntled developer than Apple stealing a piece of code that they couldn't manufacturer for themselves...
 
In any event why would Apple include wireless sync free in their iOS update rather than sell it at a profit on the appstore for $2.99...??
 
one of my major gripes with apple users is how they seem to want to proselytise us. apple products are quite good, but i still have moral issues with using apple. and i don't want to be like one of those awful "i know better" apple clones who think that they're enlightened for using a "superior" product. i reserve that right for myself :)

At the end of the day, iOS is design over function and Android is function over design

They do overlap in many areas but you take those 2 into account you will get the best for you. iOS decided to concentrate on looks and add features as they progress where Android slap every function they can onto the system and worry about looks later.

With both you going to get problems, Apple as they add functions they will clash with developers that added features before they did and the same with Android as they go into design they will clash with developers that added design elements, as we see how companies now kick up a storm about custom UI's.

And because the device is so personal you will have people saying mine is better, its part of what makes us human. As long as we are civil about its fine but starting to insult people personally because of their choice is not.

I'm an apple user, I don't see myself doing that. I take offense at this.

i meant IRL. it's like they're fawning over their precious newborn baby or something. it just gets a bit much after a while. i understand the enthusiasm and the excitement of having a cool product (and apple products are cool), but i just don't like having it blurted in my face all the time.

obviously, people in forums are far more restrained and intelligent ;)

my bad. i should perhaps have said "one of my gripes with MANY apple users". it was not fair of me to bundle all apple users together. and maybe my apple-using friends are just particularly annoying :)

also, as elimentals points out, these devices are itensely personal and are likely to elicit strong emotion from all of us :/
