Apple confirms September 14 iPhone 13 event

The online-only event will be broadcast on the Apple website, via the TV app and through the company’s channel on YouTube on Tuesday, September 14, at 10am PT / 1pm ET. Senior vice president of worldwide marketing, Greg Joswiak, has confirmed the event on Twitter.

According to clues from online sources and leaks from Apple’s carrier partners, the next iPhone will almost certainly land on store shelves the week after the announcement, September 24. The company is expected to begin taking pre-orders for the iPhone 13 family shortly after the prerecorded September 14 presentation finishes broadcasting.

Similar to several previously held Apple events, the company has also prepared an augmented reality surprise regarding the September 14 iPhone 13 event hidden, found on its website.

Just point the Safari browser on your iPhone or iPad to the Apple Events webpage at apple.com/apple-events, then touch the main illustration for the September 14 event. The embedded augmenter reality experience should start shortly.

Get California streamin’ with these Apple Event themed wallpapers

Now that Apple has finally announced its annual fall iPhone event, it’s time to get hyped. We’ve thrown together some wallpapers for your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Get California streamin’ by downloading them here.

This year’s event graphic shows off a landscape view of a lake with some mountains in the background. In the center, you can see a neon Apple logo floating above the water. Apple’s AR graphic for the event turns the logo into a portal to this area. You can see the three wallpapers below or head over to the Google Drive link above to download them.

We expect Apple to introduce the iPhone 13 family of devices, as well as the Apple Watch Series 7. It’s also possible that we will see the third generation AirPods. Other devices like a new iPad, iPad mini, and more are expected later this fall.

Apple hypes next week’s iPhone 13 event with AR portal experience

Apple has officially announced its iPhone 13 event for September 14 and along with the reveal, the company has continued its recent tradition of including a fun Easter egg for iPhone and iPad users. This time it’s slicker than ever, an AR portal.

Starting last year, Apple began including fun little AR Easter eggs for each event announcement. We got one for the Apple Watch and iPad event, iPhone 12 launch, the M1 Mac event, and the 2021 Spring Loaded event.

Now Apple has included another fun Easter egg for the “California streaming” event. If you head to Apple’s Events page on your iPhone or iPad, tap on the event logo/Apple logo at the top to launch the AR experience.

This event’s Easter egg features a clever portal design. Once you see the AR Apple logo appear (may take some time to load), walk into it to enter the lake/mountain landscape that includes the “9.14” event date.

iPhone 13 #AppleEvent hashflag now live on Twitter following official announcement

Following the announcement of Apple’s September 14 event, the company has added a new hashflag to Twitter. When you tweet the hashtag #AppleEvent, Twitter will display a mini version of the Apple logo depicted in the event’s invitation.

This isn’t Apple’s first hashflag on Twitter – last year Apple used multiple different hashflags to promote their fall events. This year, Apple created hashflags for the Spring Loaded event and WWDC21. You can see all of those animated hashflags over on hashflags.io.

This new hashflag will be live from today until December 6 and combines the background of the event invitation.

At this year’s September Apple event, we expect Apple to officially announce the iPhone 13, which is expected to bring a handful of new features. Rumors changes include a smaller notch, camera enhancements, ProMotion 120Hz display technology, and more.

Genuinely excited for this.

New phone cycle for me, and I'mma looking at you, iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Same. Been holding off on switching to iPhone thanks to the low refresh rate and huge notch on the 12 range. Finally, my time is coming. I'm also keen for the new AirPods. I only need them for voice calls and switching seamlessly between iPhone and MBA, so don't much care for wasting money on the Pro version.

I'm still rocking a Watch series 2, so looking forward to the new one.
I want a new phone even though my Xr is still doing the job just fine, maybe I can justify it early next year.

I doubt the iPhone 12s / 13 will bring anything special, it will be a very minor upgrade from the 12, probably just camera and screen refresh rate, design exactly the same.

Trading in my XR for sure. Also thinking about new AirPods/Pro, depending on the refresh specs. I have some Aukeys which have served me well but they are far from perfect: touch controls suck, no ANC, uncomfortable as hell.

Hmmm, should I keep my P30 pro or go back to apple. I'll wait for the reviews post release for now.

I’m more interested in the Mac hardware changes. Watch so so as I’m due for an upgrade from original but no rush.

Phone.. will only consider next year.

The iPhone 13 is old news people are already talking about the iPhone 14

I'm interested to see if something like the iPhone SE 3rd Gen gets announced today or whenever personally for 2022.

I really like everything about the XR so for a shell like that with an A14 and minor upgrades for a good price would be perfect.
