Bought my iMac on 9 June, so I qualify for a free upgrade, however the http://www.apple.com/za/macosx/uptodate/ page for all OTHER countries of course have links after the part where they say "Start by following one of the following links" !!! ... and the SA one of course also states to follow one of the following links and then NO LINKS ARE PROVIDED! You gotta love the incompetence in this country.

That page does not say that. It does say:

To receive your OS X Lion upgrade, you must complete the order form and provide an electronic copy of a dated, itemised sales receipt indicating the marketing part number(s) of the qualifying product(s) purchased. Order acknowledgments, packing slips and purchase order copies are not valid.

Oh, and welcome to the incompetence that is CORE! Not the whole country, but core for sure

Yeah, I just gave an interpretation of (and this time it IS a quote) "... follow one of these links to participate in the programme."

Ehh, you must complete what order form? ... I guess the missing link is supposed to take you to the "order form".

Has anyone been successful in getting the coupon code from Apple?

I received an emal from iStore. Just go to the store and request the upgrade. You have to do it in 30 days from the release of Lion, so hurry up

I bought an iMac on Saturday and they basically told me that I have first email my slip through, then get my code, and only then could I come back and get the Lion disk.

After make a stink they finally gave me the disc. I mean seriously, if you are buying a new mac or imac you should get the disc no questions asked.

Where did you buy it from?

I wonder if Core and each of their affiliates is even aware of the VERY bad reputation they have among the Apple-buying public and the Apple faithful. I do know that they do NOT care.

I received my Lion upgrade codes from Apple's Up-to-Date program today, it took about one week to process. Applied for two qualifying systems and received the codes via a password protected PDF.
