Apple Watch thread

Looks like my wife's Apple Watch Series 1 has finally died on her this morning after more than 5 years of hassle-free use. I think I should start looking out for a good, pre-loved older generation Apple Watch, the newest models are WAY too expensive and elaborate for her usage needs.
Have a look at the SE. Got my wife and kid that model and they're pretty pleased with it.

I had a look at the iStore pre-owned website, but they currently only have the Series 8, (41mm, Series 8, GPS + Cellular) for R9999 available. A new SE 40mm is about R6500, which is more than what I can afford at this stage. I think I'll still keep my eyes open for a good 2'nd hand one. My wife's Series 1 also was a pre-owned one which gave her many years of good use.

They were lucky - I get them the GPS + Cellular, 40mm Silver Aluminum Case from Apple's refurbished site for $249 each.

Not sure I'd risk a pre-owned one sight unseen.

Can also look at Phonetradr https://www.phonetradr.com/buy/products/apple-watch-se-(2nd-gen)-16gb-starlight-like-new-condition-2. Got my scratched SE from there.
But why only the series 7?
Because Apple.

Why is there no proper whatsapp on apple watch?

That sounds awful. Who wants to hold up their arm to type on a watch? Or dictate to it?

I don’t even have WhatsApp notifications come through on my watch.

And yet Messages has an Apple Watch app.

I'm pretty sure Telegram did as well at one stage.

It's pretty handy if you don't have your phone with you.

Most apps have a watch equivalent. Doesn’t mean they all made a good use case for the watch.

For you but I've already highlighted one adventitious use case so I'm glad it's available to those of us who want it.

Yes, it's just my opinion that it's unnecessary. I didn't say no one should use it or uses it - as that's obviously, not correct.

It could be cool if it came up with generic replies like Gmail does ?

'see you soon' or 'alright' or something related to what was sent

Gosh that was a big thing for me ... needing all my notifications to come though, even the Whatsapp

It does have standard replies.
