Apple Watch thread

Incredible Corruption in Sandton City do / did have yesterday. But in store sales only, not online.

Escalated this **** up of a launch with my local iStore, even they are dumbfounded how head office can give to 3rd parties before group retail stores.

This might be why istore cant fulfill pre orders

They probably assumed that Sandton will sell more watches than PE based on historic sale records, and sent stock accordingly.

Then a nationwide product launch with no stock is false advertising ... but hey.

We all know Sandton is the wealthiest corner of the african continent.

They have to support partners. Incredible is the only watch partner outside of core group (I'm sure digicape is owned by them one way or another) so I don't see any foul play giving them (incredible) equal opportunity at launch.

Not at the expense of your own stores. You don't see Apple shafting Apple Stores by giving stock away to BestBuy first at launch.

Anyhow, wrote a reasonable email to the local iStore and they have procured one en route from JHB. It never hurts to ask why ...

They do actually. My iPhone 5S I couldn't get from any of the Apple stores at NYC, had to get it from the Best Buy as they were the only ones that got stock. This was before the reservation system was in place, and the Apple store had the army of asian people outside to buy the device.

Did you pre-order via iStore, or Digicape? Thinking I might just go this route - too much of a mission to drive through to stores, without knowing if they have stock in advance...

It's a 42mm Rose Gold Aluminium Case with Orange/Anthracite Woven Nylon Band

watchOS 3.1 has also been released. The watch takes forever to update. I would hate to think how long it took on the original watch with out the dual core processor.

It only took 20min on mine (which is the "original" one as you call it)

Still waiting for iStore PE to get a unit allocated for me. (read: their first and only unit).

In Sandton on Monday so will head to IC if no luck. Pathetic logistics from Core.

There must be more stock coming for Friday when they launch the Nike watch. Why don't you give IC a call and ask them hold one back for you.

Might just do that - I'm sure the 6 or 7 Nike watches will sell out fast country wide :whistle:
 
How does everyone find the heart rate tracking accuracy? Reviews are a mixed bag and if i get one I'd like to know it's fairly accurate for running and gym etc?
