Have you compared AOD on but raise to wake off?

From tomorrow I'll probably revert to Always On off and raise to wake on.
 
Still completely happy with my series 5, I've had no upgrade temptation as it still works as well as the day I bought it.

Same, I’ve not been given a really good reason to upgrade.

Battery will eventually force my hand I’m sure.
 
Something weird started happening last week. My cycles are recorded on the watch in the activity app with the rings, and the individual duration, Kcal etc, seem to be fine. However, they do not add to the total required to close the ring.

Take this morning as an example:
I did a 16km cycle for 33min and 221kcal and a 24km cycle for 41min and 555kcal. These were on an indoor trainer, and the info comes from Zwift via Strava to the activity app.

The total for my rings shows 352kcal only, though. I did some walking, and my total exercise is 94min now at work. The watch seems to add the duration but not the exercise.

I changed the measurement unit between kcal etc, and restarted it but could not get it to work. Any ideas?

Edit: It worked fine this morning, hopefully, whatever it was is sorted out now.

Yesterday was a Always-On off day. After 17:21 hours the battery was at 56%.

Today is an Always-On on day. I'll alternate for a week or two (unless the results become apparent sooner) and see what's what after that.
After 60+ days I'm done. Always On off has an advantage of 20% more juice in the battery at the end of the day over having it on.
 
I would just like to give a shout-out to all the useless employees of the Centurion Mall MTN. They had no freaking idea what to do when I asked for an eSIM for my Apple watch. Such competence. Much Wow!

None of them know, I explained it to them myself. You do however not need to go in to get an eSIM, simply activate it from the watch and accept the R25 monthly fee.

Wait so that’s a bug, I’ve never seen external activities go into your rings, they’ve been exclusively Apple activities for me.

Thanks for this info, I did not know that. Unfortunately trying to activate the eSIM from the watch is equally frustrating. In typical MTN incompetent form, the website returns an Oracle system error when trying to log in. Oh well, back to the shop I will go.

Mine worked first time, but yeah, the store cannot help you at all with that. There is no other way to activate the eSIM on the watch as the watch needs the info that MTN sends back from that site to complete the registration.
