Apple Watch thread

Here is a teaser.

Ignore the thin hairy arms.

Someone commented if it was a problem with smaller wrists. I was also concerned as well but just went ahead and got one

What’s the battery life like?

Clockology app
Many talented creators out there

Not sure what your wrist diameters are, mine being 175-177mm, I had this big boy on my arm and my poor little wrist seemed dwarfed by this beauty, I'm too poor to buy it anyway. But it was an amazing looking watch.

The 45mm seems to be a perfect fit for me. So the series 8 it was.

Thanks for the tip on the Clockology app! Does the watch/clock stop seeing that it's an app, i need to keep touching the face for the time to update

Looks great!

Which Apple Watch offers the best value for money and where does one look for the best deals?

I scouted a bit, and the best (in-store) was iStore, their prices were on par with the rest and they had local stock (George area)
Personally, I think the Watch SE (2nd Gen) is the best bang for your buck, obvious, they priced it so that you can experience the Apple watch world, without cutting to much on the luxuries the more expensive models offer

I'd say if you can find a Series 7 on special (it's the previous model) consider that over the SE, personally, i like the always-on display. iStore is selling them for just over R5k (old stock of course)

Thanks @ViciousClone.

I will definitely look at the options you mention.

Does the SE not offer an always-on display?

Does anyone know if, by any chance, iStore does Android watch trade-in deals like their phone deals?

The SE doesn't have always on. Not sure about Android watch trade-ins, I don't think so.

Yeah, it's a bit of a kluge.

Always on is a battery killer so it's not necessarily a bad thing imo.

You have to glance at the watch once per hour but I added a complication to activate the the app

The SE 2 but it scratches easy so best to get a bumper cover for it as well. If I were to buy again and go new I’d get a stainless steel series 7 or 8.

My stainless steel S5 still looks like new, it's at least 2 years old now.

Still gets a full day on a charge and I keep AOD on.

Thanks for the input everyone!

Looking at the specs across the available models, it’s a little disappointing that I’ll lose some of the features that my current watch has…

Series 7 looks to be the best value for money. I’m leaning towards that at the moment.

Then why change?

I’ve recently purchased an iPhone and the Apple Watch will now be the more appropriate accompaniment.
Fair enough.

Having been given a watch for Christmas it probably wouldn't be my first choice for a second Apple product but it's just a matter of differing priorities. :)

I do use my current smartwatch quite often. I also like how the Apple Watch looks and like to have something on my wrist.

As a matter of interest, which features are you going to be losing?
