any thoughts/comments?

I thought it was pretty much identical to last year? more of the get-a-mac ads (yawn, over it!)

also... I'm in this industry, and I didn't know it was this week.. how are non-macs supposed to know to go see it? Poor advertising as always buy our favourite apple dist.

ya i think it only started yesterday.

I laughed, poor graham was standing wearing an apple week tshirt looking very sorry for himself

:) why they have him standing there doing squat is beyond me....Guess they need someone smart there to deal with the core abuse

Aaahh Apple Week ... I remember those sleepless nights and the stink of cinnabon

No Marketing

I am absolutely amazed by the total LACK of Apple marketing in South Africa!

So many people think that windows and Mac are incompatible (emails etc)

Some of my friends can't believe it when they see my iMac as they've never seen one before (these are guys in their 20's - they're not grandpa's :p )

There are sooo many people buying rubbish computers when they could be buying MacBooks and iMacs

At least the iPhone's "halo" effect will increase the general Apple awareness in S.A

Macs in SA are overpriced thanks to CORE. While commodity laptops and PCs are cheap - you can buy a good PC laptop for about R6K - that's enough to do email, basic word processing with OpenOffice and internet browsing.

The cheapest Macbook is what - R16K or R19K?
That's crazy. The cheapest Macbook has integrated intel gfx which won't
let you run Final Cut Studio 2 nor Aperture (I think).

You'll need a MBP and those are very pricey - so there is no reason to buy
a Macbook for a price conscious buyer. PCs are way cheaper.
