applying for a tv license

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a tv license if you apply through their website?
I want to buy a new tv on thursday and i was thinking of getting the license first. Or should I just hang on and get one at the place I buy the tv from?

on the site a few seconds and you get the email confirmation etc imedialty the card takes a week or so to get deliverd but i am not sure if stores accept the email proof, the should as you get the numer from their
but alot of the stores let you apply in store so its realy up to you.
 
If you go to the post office and buy it their you can use the receipts to buy the TV with. The card comes about 3 weeks later. So, maybe the email confirmation might be used...
 
You can get the tv license at the shop where you buy the tv if they are jacked enough. Game for example
 
Yeah im going to be buying it at game so maybe its safer to just go there and do it. thanks for the info.
 
Just remember... once you buy a license you are on their system FOREVER! :eek:

Better to not get on the system in the first place! :)

So true ... and what do you get for paying your fabulous tv license?? Doesn't SABC show the greatest shows ;)
 
I bought my Samsung LE40C530 at Makro on Sunday, it was priced R8999 but they ran a 4 hour special of R7999. Naturally I put in in my trolley and headed over to the till where I discovered that I need to get a tv license..

He copied my ID, phoned the License people and printed out my temp license. the R250 was added to my bill and I paid at the till. All in all I never spent more than 5mins at the Makro :-)
