Have had one of my Amazon shipments sitting at customs clearance since the 16th now. Two other shipments that I ordered at the same time spent less than a day at customs and those were much higher value items.

I emailed them yesterday and to their credit they did respond promptly asking for my ID number, so just have to wait I guess.

Really don't understand why so long, had some one who waited for a shorter time and it was sorted Aramex service is woeful at times
 
Is it really aramex in these above cases or Customs who are the problem?

It can be both. Sometimes Aramex forget a parcel, and it only moves once you complain. Sometimes the clearing clerk uses the wrong customs code and the bluetooth speaker you are importing becomes a Samsung S9 and duty is doubled.
Always check the SAD 500 clearance documents before you pay a cent- they are always uploaded when customs is done with your parcel.
Sometimes it is genuinely Customs who are the problem. If they have a backlog of parcels to get through you will have to wait.
 
Does anybody have experience purchasing on ebay and posting to your aramex address? This relates to credit card payments only. I have used paypal and it worked well with paypal verifying the aramex address. Any idea how to pay via credit card if the seller does not have a paypal payment option.

I'm trying to checkout and my shipping address is the aramex one but my billing address is my local SA address. Ebay is rejecting it. Any ideas?
 
Hi guys quick question.

I forgot I used an old Cape Town address when I signed up for my free account a few years ago. I've got a shipment that's just departed and I sent a request to change my address to the Aramex JHB warehouse/depot. Will they be able to change even though my package just left NY?

Came delivered straight to me w/o having to pay first for customs clearance

Phone Aramex Cape Town. Give them the tracking number, and ask for help. They can phone JHB and confirm that you are genuine.

In the past I was able to get it updated before the package was delivered, but I still recommend phoning them to confirm the current package will be delivered to the correct address.
 
Package was cleared from customs this morning in Joburg, can I expect to receive it in Cape Town tomorrow?
 
Had a parcel clear customs in JHB at 19:50 on 24/07 and it was delivered to me in CPT at 09:05 on 25/07 so maybe.

Package was cleared on Sunday, it left JHB last night, called to find out it's travelling by truck and delivery will occur "from Wednesday" - not impressed, but nothing I can do. Guy at Aramex told me last week Wednesday he expected to receive the package back from Customs by Thursday, and I could expect it Friday, latest Monday

You are better off getting a couple of batteries from aliexpress. I have 3 batteries on the way. Usually singapore or china post would probably take like 2 to 3 months to come but it will eventually get here. For the LG G4 it's not worth spending like R500+ on a battery only considering you can get a refurbished device for like R1k

Just make sure to always take a shipping method that is registered mail because they allow tracking abd you get a local tracking number too once it eventually passed through customs which takes about 1 month.
