Arbitrage betting, also known as "arbing," "surebets," "sure wins," or simply "arbs," is a betting strategy where you place bets on all outcomes of an event at odds that guarantee a profit, no matter the result. This opportunity typically arises when different bookmakers have different opinions on the likely outcome or make a mistake when setting the odds.

Anyone here with experience in this?

These arbitrage opportunities must be very rare and short lived?

Lol also had that video pop into my youtube feed yesterday

There are ancient threads on it in here. In short, it works for a short while and the markets self correct mostly. Go back to the parent forum and search arbitrage using the search feature and include results with the word in the heading.

You can make a quick buck and then your accounts will get banned.

You can make more consistent money with match betting, but you need a UK/US/EU bank account and address to sign up to bookmakers.

I have not had experience with arbitrage betting, but have heard of arbitrage profiteering related to weak currencies where there is a very active secondary market (read: black market) like Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Angola.

As I understand it as a result of grey areas in legislation there is a lit of uncertainty regarding the legality.

Arbitrage betting will work for some time and will require a lot of work like a full-time job. It would also require manpower. I gambled on sports for 8 years and would sometimes see discrepancies in prices with various bookmakers, but so minuscule would be the difference that I would need to bet a lot of money to get something reasonable. Also, the changes are rapid so you would need to be quick. Betting online using arbitrage betting will get your accounts banned, especially by smaller guys, am not sure if Supabets or Hollywoodbets will as they are billion-dollar corporations.

What you need to learn is what David Walsh is doing or did. He and his crew won tens of millions of dollars on betting. They use mathematics and shift the odds in their favour, something like that.

I’ve done it on various stock markets. The more efficient their technology the tougher the competition is though (it’s a race).

I started to take betting more seriously. Making a bit of money now. I think am on to something but remember usually the good tips are kept secret or else bookies will close the arbitrage.

Arbitrage betting will get your accounts banned with any major UK bookie.

yup, they're actually incredibly sophisticated on the data analytics side to catch stuff like that

and they don't care if they happen to be on the winning side while you're arbing, both sides will look to catch and ban you

I've actually helped build countermeasures for arbing at one of the major UK sports betting players ... so if you got banned, I'm sorry :X3:

I'm in the industry and you won't get away with it in SA these days. It was doable years back (And we took advantage, was quite a sophisticated operation) but those days are gone. You might get away with it on a small scale now, but not at a scale to make it worthwhile.

In short if you hears abt something like this in public. It's too late...

Arbitrage betting is an innovative strategy that covers all possible outcomes of an event or market in one go,
for instance placing bets on both tennis players to win in a two-way market- thus mitigating risks and guaranteeing profit no matter the market outcome.
We will explore more deeply what arbitrage betting involves here including its benefits and drawbacks as well as implied probability calculations, margin analysis techniques and stake placement techniques as well as ways to prevent detection when employing this strategy.
