not the same, but better.

- get Lekker Sound!
- Get a nice TV/Screen - those displayes they used in the 90's cabinets are old man.
- Use a PC and install mame - no need for just 1 single game. think of all those classics ready to be played!
- Keep the arcade controls the same though. ask me where if you decide to build it yourself. I can also design and print the Cabinet art for you as well, so just PM me or something.

Agreed. Once I move into my house I will make me one of these.

I reckon a 32" plasma will look good. mame can do those retro Scanline Effects no problem - so you can enable them and disable them too.

Nah widescreen sux for old games. 4:3 CRT ftw.

Do you (or anyone else) know of a SA supplier where I can buy parts? I found a couple online, but they're really pathetic. Looks like unless you want to order something big, they just don't care. Nowhere even close to dealers like Ultimarc, HappControls etc.

Also, where can I find a 64cm slimfit tv? The 54cm tv's are too small and the 74cm tv's too big.

I just don't know what theme to decorate with, in the design of the cabinet.
There are just so many good ones.

There's some awesome sites out there with DIY plans for building your own cabinet. Its not too complicated but required a lot of time.

One of these days I plan to build my own cabinet as well - its far superior than buying a cabinet.
