Now I've done something terrible... I'm using the stock heatsink (shock, horror, dismay)... So just ignore that one little bit for now ok? hehe. Besides, without it you wouldnt have gotten an update. I'm aiming for next week to put the final cooler on, just depends if I get a couple other things done first which if the tubing is already in, would be impossible to complete.

Hope you enjoyed! Thats all for now... Now I'm off down the east coast for some much needed R&R. Then with a bit of luck I'll be able to come back and its all systems go to finish this puppy

A big thanks goes out to Landmark again for helping out with the hardware!

lol love the random SSD just sitting there.. looking good hey. Love the green and black theme!

Looking goood ! (xcept for the fugly standard fan)
I can definitely vouch for LandmarPC's - Andy is always helpful - I have some items on the way from them now :)
Next up... SSD... RAWR !!!

So I take it you're going NVIDIA... :D
heh heh heh was looking at colour scheme and thinking red would look awful in a contrast.

Although! Aftermarket cooling for the GPU might work.

Looking good Archer. Would be cool to see that SSD mounted though ;)

Hey everyone, thanks :)

Managed to get a 4.35GHz OC with the motherboard auto OC function on the stock cooler, should have plenty more headroom with the water cooler. SSD mount still on hold, cash issues :/ meh
And no, not necassarily going nvidia, GPU water blocks can be any colour I want them to be ;)

I finally got my dremel, selling old PC parts FTW :D So I should be able to finally finish up the SSD mount this weekend

Oh, almost forgot. I had wanted to put lighting behind the motherboard shield, but its not going to work :( There is too little space for me to place LEDs everywhere that I need them for even lighting across the board. Oh well, next time I'll just have to make my own shield that does have space :D

Typing this from a water cooled i5 2500k :D Quite tired now though, and my fingers have practically no skin left after tightening all the fittings, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow for a few pics :p

Haha, woops. I was too "distracted" yesterday to do a proper update, but I'm sure you can all understand why. You cant say no to that face!

Ok, so here is your update... Tackled the window first to get used to the dremel. Its only 3mm thick so it should be much easier to work with than the 10mm thick SSD mount. Clamped it in place, and drilled all the mounting holes. Then held it up to the light so that I could see where I would need to cut. Marked that up and then got my trusty Dremel out. Started with a cutting bit, which was a disaster.. Then moved onto one of the cutting discs, which was not a disaster.

This is not the window, haha

This is the window. Keeping the protective film on for now. Will only take that off once everything else is done

Dremel has definately been a great help today!

Before all of that happened I mounted the CPU block (which sits perfectly in the middle of the mobo cutout) and connected all the tubing. Tightening those compression fittings is one heck of a mission. When I was done my thumbs were numb, haha. Just to be on the safe side I wrapped some tp around the fittings to catch any minor leaks that may develop. And then, a looooong wait letting the pump run to make double triple sure there were no leaks. You should be able to see there are a ton of bubbles in the reservoir. Half the purpose of the leak test is to get rid of those as well. Any bubbles left in the system will not only damage the pump over time, but also slead to higher temps

Continued in next post...

Fast forward to this morning, and everything is still well :D The loop looks a bit odd cause of the long tube from CPU to the radiator, but once I get a new GPU and bring that under water too it will look much better

And finally, the SSD mount. I got the 45° edge done, applied some frosty thingamobs to it, throw in some LEDs for good measure and voila!!

Thats all for now everyone. Thanks goes out yet again to my sponsor
