Archers custom chassis work log

I also need to widen the 5.25 bays since the fan controller is too big for the hole in the side panel by about 0.5mm.

Eish dude, you keep on fscking up :p :D

Just kidding, looking really good Archer!

Can't wait for the post powder coating pics...

Update!
The bad news - Well I had wanted to work on the case the last two weekends... but instead I got shipped off to the USA, again :/
The good news - should be flying back tomorrow, so will start cleaning out the hexes with needle files on Thursday, and sand everything down over the weekend. So basically, its should be ready for powder coating next week Monday.

Just seen this thread for the first time and then it ended!11 noes!
More pics please, its looking awesome so far.

Subscribed :) This build is looking fantastical! My dream is to finish my degree so I can get a workshop and spend hours building things... :D

Haha,
Nope, just got caught up putting it all together :D And the light was plain horrible today. Only just managed to snap a few pics and then it started raining again. I will take some more next weekend probably (I'm going away for a little R&R this weekend), so sorry guys you will have to wait a bit longer for better pics.

Anyway here is a little taste...

Spent the better part of the evening putting it together. The coating does add a few fractions of a mm, so here and there things were tight, but it all came out alright

Stuck my current hardware in for now, and only the pump is mounted. Still so much to do (which is why the side panels are not on), I think I actually need to make a list so that I can cross things off and feel like I'm getting somewhere. Off the top of my head I need different screws for the radiator, pump, pump cover, reservoir, washers for all outside bolts. Obviously still need to route the tubing. Fans need some LEDs soldered in. Wiring needs to be tidied up, but I'll only do that after sleeving the cables nicely. etc etc... so stay tuned, there is still a lot more to come! Let me know what you think so far :)

Its looking hawt! :D

The black looks mean, I really dig it!

I like the clean look overall, it was definitely the right thing to mount the fan controllers at the side!

Hey everyone! MyBB is fighting me on the pic uploads :( So I only have this one pic for you. I'll keep trying, and if I cant get it right tomorrow I'll upload the pics somewhere else.

So basically, everything seems to fit so far. I also got the reservoir and radiator in place, but you cant see it from this angle :/ Also got one piece of tubing in, compression fittings are tough to use! I'll definately need to dip the tubing into hot water for the rest to loosen them up, otherwise I'm not going to have much skin left on my fingers! Oh, before I forget - no more hotwiring the PC :D:D I wired up one of the switches, so now I can turn my PC on and off with a button again, woohoo :p

PostmanPot: www.imagehost.co.za isn't hosted locally, so you might as well just use something like imageshack, but imagehost works quite nicely for forum posts, since it gives you the BBcode.

I dig the honeycomb mesh thing that you've got going!

Awesome job that you've done so far :D
