I bought a 23 inch 70000:1 samsung monitor and got it connected full hd and for me it looks great
I won't even get into why that "70000:1" figure is a fail... But Sammy monitors are great

Clustering servers yes, not desktop PC's that can barely run word, one of the other options were clusters of PS3s running Linux

I am actually afraid of people like you, spouting things like this with no actual real world knowledge of how it works, theoretical limits are just that theoretical, and just for your info a 9600GT can theoretically push 208GFLOPS, there is no way they will ever reach those limits. In real world circumstances I'd take a PS3 at R3500 over a PC of the same price, as I know the PS3 is much better value and bang for buck. But then again you are a PC fanboy by the looks of it and no one is going to change that.
Read your post again, the theoretical limit of a GT220 is 192 GFLOPS according to Wikipedia ;-). But back to topic, not all games are 720p on the PS3 but a lot are.
I think u lost me about 15 posts ago roflmao. I know saw an LED with 1m:1 contrast ratio what an epic fail lol
lol I agree so whats the final verdict
I have both my computer not so strong but can still play 95% of the latest games
