Are card transactions with Capitec free?

My friend says he pays like R3.50, but Capitec told me card transaction is free.

Which is it?

Like if I go to McDonalds and swipe. That free?

Yep they are. I sometimes pay for r10 of stuff on my card.

Always free here unless I want cash from Pick 'n Pay then it is R1.

Is he using the global one card or not?

We both have chip cards, but he got his capitec account in 2011 IIRC.

So I can swipe without fear yay.

His monthly fees are about R48.
