Are FNB smart devices worth it

I've just checked my Vodacom bill and I'm only paying R230pm handset fee for a Sony Z2 that I got 30 July 2014 - so brand new and expensive cash.

FNB have the Z3 (old) at R449.00pm with a Sony E1 - almost double!

Got the S6 from TM for R399. With 100minutes and 1GB data/pm. good deal.
Hauwei P8 for R299 from TM, same benefits. Oh yah also get 10GB data/pm extra till end of June.
Also Afrihost have launched a monthly pay you go service. very competitive.

I am interested in the Galaxy Tab S2 at R379pm x 24 = R9096.

Is that deal worth it from FNB or should I go with another provider?

FNB deals are definitely not worth it any more. They've completely lost the plot.

I still got my Macbook from them just over a year ago but then it was the same price as the regular retail price but I could pay it off interest free. Now they seem to be adding a premium to the total price - even the cheap laptops are a ripoff.

They used to be under cost to hook customers to the bank for 2 years. Got my Note 4, R2k cheaper. Now they realize people are idiots and buy no matter what.

The thing is the operators have since gone back to subsidizing devices with services at a cheaper cost. So if you look at the cost of operator phones you will see often the specials have contracts which provide phone + services for a cost of phone + 30-50% of services.. Crazy but yah.

For some things makes sense but since everything is data dependent watch out for data costs & bundles being over priced. That's why MTN with Afrihost works out fantastic
