(CNN) -- Are users of other Web browsers smarter than the people who use Microsoft's Internet Explorer?

A new survey doesn't quite say so. But it sure as heck suggests it.

The survey by AptiQuant, a Vancouver-based Web consulting company, gave more than 100,000 participants an IQ test, while monitoring which browser they used to take the test.

The result? Internet Explorer users scored lower than average, while Chrome, Firefox and Safari users were slightly above average.

I haven't used IE as my primary browser for years :D

I have 2 pc's on one i use chrome on the other i use IE9,now what?

In our office we call Internet Explorer the Devils program (sometimes to much delight of our customers)

Do you get any bonus points for using IE with the ChromeFrame addon?

Mmph. Yet another crappy brand-partisan non-story by fanboi journo pretending to be objective. MyBB is sadly becoming increasingly contaminated by this sort of pseudo-tech pablum that appeals only to those with brand-addled brains desperate to hide their inferiority, as if the only way to advance your fave brand is to smack down others.

I like IE more than the other browsers, could use a decent ad blocker though.
It's the only bowser that works properly on every "secure" site out there.

Are you an Internet Explorer user?

Is this post targeted at me?

Wow this is heavy. I'm sure it was all posted tongue in cheek. Put back the insults.

Well. Let me try analyze that.

We all know the majority of PC illiterates mainly use a PC to do just what they require but don't know a thing besides parrot fashion functionality.
We all know that a person who uses a PC for an extensive period but fails to take to it, adapt and improve is either A) Dumb or B) Not interested. This is the case for all PC illiterates.

So with those who are not interested in computers and/or have no need to learn them aside - because being dumb errs on the side of the group who does not learn to use a superior browser that is more secure and less riddled with problems and security issues, it stands to logical conclusion that a collective sample of that size (100000 or so) would reveal a lower collective IQ on that half of the sample. Minus the one or two exceptions to the norm ie those who were just lazy to change.

So I would have come to this conclusion without the need to even study it :p
