From what I've read in some of the other relationship threads(especially from Voicys story) and from what I've heard my friends say it seems that one of the common excuses for someone wanting to break up a serious relationship is that " I'd just like to have some fun for a while...". And we even call a committed relationship serious.

So that obviously begs the question, are committed relationships not fun?
And if they're not, whats the point of having them then?

Most of the time they should either be fun or enjoyable. If it gets to the point where a relationship starts becoming too much like work you should probably start thinking about ending it. Having said that remember that they are cyclical. They go through periods of strain followed by periods of fun.

Because sometimes you are just not as compatible as you previously thought so the relationship is not fun. It requires too much hard work and effort to keep it going and that is mundane and boring and people grow tired of it very quickly and want to break free.

they are fun.. i just came out of a committed relationship for that reason. Thing is it comes down to age more i think. Cause at 20 i want to have a few chicks, play the field, see whats happening out there. And not always be like sorry guys i have to see the GF.

i mean a Serious GF is fun, its guaranteed ass, someone to share your stories with, someone you can have fun with. But sometimes you need something new...

its like my Alfa might drive well and be all fun, but when i have offerings of 135's and S3's i want to try it and see if i want good old faithful or new and exciting :P

You can't SERIOUSLY be comparing a woman to a car!?:confused::eek:

I don't get it.
Is a relationship supposed to be a form of entertainment?
I don't think so.

I think the younge age group see it as entertainment. When you mature you realise that it's not all fun and games.

Thanks for bringing that up again.

:p

Nah you're right - It doesn't have to be easy, but it must be pleasant more often than it's not. Otherwise what's the point?

I was foolishly thinking everything was fine as I was mostly chilled - but only seeing each other once a week max didn't help too much either. She just started varsity & I was just ending off Tech, so we were on opposite tangents. It was nice while it lasted...for the most part.

Relationships must be fun... the girl/guy must be your friend and your lover. I have always liked to have a GF that gets on with my friends so that I don't have to divide up all my time.

Nothing beats a regular shag though...

Perhaps I was wrong.
A relationship is a form of entertainment.
When you're bored, swap it out for a new one.
I mean, seriously, who cares any way.
