Hey,

Well i've had my Gainward 7900GT for about 3 weeks now...and its never been touched by an overclocking utility/mod...

When i load warcraft 3...after a while i get these little square type things moving all over my screen can anyone tell me if these are actually artifacts...or is my game screwed???

Thanks

Yes indeed those from what you describe would be artifacts. That could also be caused by high temperatures even at default speeds.

Well if it happens everytime you play the game, it clearly not once off.
And yes it is a problem, because that may lead to permanent damage to your gfx crd. You should be careful and monitor your temps. They should not go over 75'C. Yes NV thermal throttle only happens at 115'C, but that may be too late.

Check your temps using ATITool and scan for artifacts for 10mins and check the temperatures.

My GPU is at 43 degrees, while playing the game and artifacting

ahhh...so its not just me

and we have the same card...how odd

they dont show up on screenshots, gna have to use atitool to proove it...

i have only noticed it in BF2, and it happens about once a week. Mind you i dont really play other games. This seems to be quite a common problem with nvidia cards, 2 fellow clannies of mine(|WrG| FTW :p) have the same issue with 6600gt's i think.

But i am tickd off, you dont expect **** like that from high end cards

for me its happened in:

- Warcraft 3
- SWAT
- F.E.A.R
- BF2

i play games most days...and this has been going on for about 1 or 2 days...warcraft was the final straw tho

(cant get hold of brian)

well he'll have another one too swap out if mine continues. I will play games this weekend, see how it goes...

Easy. Upload your bios and I'll see if I can reproduce the errors.
I have an a hunch on what could be wrong.
And besides if you swop it out, it's likely that it'll happen again.
If these are the Red PCb Gainwards then I know exactly what's wrong with the bios and its easily fixed.

its not the red PCB, its the standard nVidia green

This is the 1st im hearing of this problem with the Cards, I even had a guy named S E T H clock the same type of cards from the same batch upto GTX levels.

If there is a problem, they will be swopped out.
