Are we heading for Internet lockdown?

nothing new here, people have been ducking work way before the PC - the bottom line is always the bottom line - beware bean counters that do not know a business from the bottom up
 
Lots of time can be wasted online. The other risks as mentioned in the article are viruses and other nasties that pcs are susceptible to when users venture into the internet ghettos.

I had to use a web protection program to block a manager's urges after one of the office pcs was infected when we got back from the holidays. He had been at work earlier to oversee the "factory maintenance" :D.
 
the pc, the watercooler, the cigarette break, the 5 minute smoke break, etc. etc. etc.

As long as people have to work, there will some/most who will find ways to waste time on the clock. Can't blame the PC.
