Making your own beer isnt that difficult, you also get to make it exactly the way you like.
I battle to drink SAB beer these days, its just so bland in comparison.
The local supply of craft beer is also really limited and pretty expensive.

There are quite a lot of the beer kits available, the cider etc kits are not available though.

Yup, I mean beer doesn't have super complex ingredients. All the normal ingredients of beer (except maybe hops) are used for general food production so there really is no way to ban it.

A friend with weed is a friend indeed. A friend who needs weed is an annoying little twat who needs to get his own stash! :ROFL:
 
Been brewing since around 2018, started out with extract (cans). Lockdown 1, pushed me to go all grain and I have never looked back since, made about 9 brews since then. Bottling my american pale ale today.

I did it on the cheap, not perfect but can be done. I would say probably cost me R1000 all in (bottles dependent). My friend uses more expensive equipment, but all in all very similar results.

Each batch costs me around R250 and I re-use the yeast like 2-3 times (Kveik)
 
I guess you only have home brewing to fall back on,

or we going to have a return to prohibition like in the USA soon enough,
look how that turned out, waste of the police's time, and the "real" criminals running around freely.

but then again, they deploying the military, not to prevent an invasion or a Coup
but to guard beaches, for illegal sunbathers.
 
I have more than sufficient supply for my needs, so have not yet had to brew my own. But I probably would otherwise.
 
Following the speech, I just ordered supplies for another 90l of beer. Might as well start stocking up, looks like this is going to be a long one.
 
I have been brewing for around 10 years. Also taught plenty guys how to brew. Keg my beers and have 3 beers on tap all the time. I have enough ingredients for around 250 liters, think I will make it through this lock down.
