Does Linux and opensource flow in your blood? Are your wings being clipped and you feel under-appreciated in your current technical role, much like a super-hero in disguise? Are you a Linux technician, systems engineer or self employed in the same industry who's looking for a change?

Come and work for us! We expect you to be a Linux genius, work damn hard and deliver a high quality work, but we'll treat you like gold and make sure your boring work days are behind you.

We have a fun working environment:

1. Above average pay - our salaries beat similar positions in small companies.
2. Great perks - free internet at home, cellphone contract, paid gym membership, paid medical aid.
3. Great Equipment - dual 23" monitors, SSD, enterprise fibre internet access.
4. A lack of tolerance for pettyness and politics. As we are a small team, there is less red tape to get work done.
5. Work with the best and the brightest - we employ winners who you can learn from.
6. Industrial coffee machine - and fresh beans!

You'll love working here. Trust me. If you're unsure - email the special superhero address and we can arrange a visit where you can meet the people behind the company - no obligations.

Our requirements are:

1. A degree/diploma. If you can answer some tough questions about why you should be hired without these, we'll listen.
2. If you are young and feel you can make a real difference with the ideas and skills you have, let us know!
3. Strong technical background relating to the internet, hosting, Linux and opensource software.
4. "Take control, run with it" attitude.

How to apply:

* Email the special superhero address Sk9CUytzdXBlci1oZXJvQExCU0QuTkVUCg== and tell us about yourself. We get many replies, so make it good!
* I will phone the most interesting candidates and then meet with you personally to see if you're a good fit - on your schedule and at your convenience.

Location: Cape Town, Southern Suburbs
Salary range: 188k-450k

Note: Thanks to those on MyBB for helping me improve my advert quality.

What exactly does the job entail? Nicely written but doesn't say what exactly it is you are doing.

30% for math yo! ;) hahaha

But seriously, I may be interested.

Linux skills - I have servers I maintain anyway.
Mostly via Ansible, as its lighter than Chef / Puppet etc. I see you guys do a bit of postfix (as the policyd site is yours), i'm more of a qmail guy, but can learn fast.

I like Debian, but Redhat etc are fine, its much of a muchness, just a matter of now where did they put the config files...
(although an strace xxx | grep 'bla.conf' usually does the trick).

Are you looking for dev or sysops though?

I'm a bit of both.

You can look at my blog for a little overview of what i get up to ( http://www.computersolutions.cn/blog )
Don't be afraid of the .cn, I'm in Cape Town these days.

DevOps + SysOps mix is probably the best suiting for us. It really depends on the person though, where their passion lies and where they can fit in.

We use Salt for automation. We analyzed features of what was available and this was the best.

All our servers are Linux-based. Mostly Debian (90%+). We have a number of CloudLinux (CentOS/RHEL'ish) vm's. All setups are somewhat mostly if not completely documented, all roles are somewhat mostly documented. Everything is setup as per our policies. When setup policies change, policy update documents are created for a migration path.

Postfix ya 99% of the time, simple enough, and documented on our side... depends on the use case though (most of what we do involves milter + Postfix policy delegation protocol).
