Luxury! We didn't have an aerial that could receive Bop
o_O Now you taking me back. With dad on the roof and a chain of family members shouting the signal quality from the lounge to the roof until the aerial being position just right.

hahahaha oh yeah

And the signal would be PERFECT, so he'd let go the aerial and it would go to **** again. Touch it and it's great...

"ok dad you live in the roof now"

Most of the comments on here I've seen are married people with kids which I'm guessing means 30+ years old. I'm 25, single, living with parents, mid level software engineer and hoping to emigrate to UK/Germany/NL or Ireland next year. Are there any younger people on this forum looking to emigrate (like in their 20s) ? Most people that I know who are around my age and are STEM graduates all want to gtfo
This was happening 25 years ago already. All my work colleagues were looking to get out. Not so much due to crumbling infrastructure, but rather due to local crime and better work opportunities overseas.

I left in my 20’s - living in a foreign country was awesome then: big cities, bands, interesting people, and amazing early career prospects. Still all true.

Those numbers are scary. 10% already left, 50% looking to leave and only 30% going to hold down the fort.
The really scary thing is that many of those 30% sound like they are stuck either due to not having the skills or finances to emigrate or due to not wanting to leave family (mostly parents) behind. Just 10 years ago, when these type of questions were asked here, there were so many more “No place like home” types.

I miss biltong.
My boet don't stress hey. Where are you I can score you biltong spice in the EU if you are here.

Just add you own meat and a small fan. Wait a while then enjoy.

Thought you were joking. Pro-tip from experience use the Argentinian beef, pretty much the same as SA beef as they are mostly grass fed not the grain fed rubbish.

I tried Irish beef. Will try Argentinian but its like 40 euro for a small piece.

You say that now. But after 12 months of eating bland ass food, you start to lose all reason. I now know why europeans went out to sea.
Well yes I say that, knowing I have a south african chef living in the area, who has a shop that sells the most amazing biltong and boerie I have ever had.
Even so - bland? Seriously?
There is so much variety available... I think maybe you must just scroll past the first page of uber eats ;)
