But after 12 months of eating bland ass food, you start to lose all reason.

I get this. If Dominoes Pizza ranks among the Top 5 best fast food places for you then you know the county's food is ****. They don't even have chutney chips here, every is always "paprika" aka bell peppers. They've got the palate of a cardboard figurine.

So if you're not the person who enjoys cooking at home then it's definitely enough reason to pack up and leave. But I'd try another European country first - the poorer they are the better their food.

Looks like a great choice! Order a madras or vindaloo from that yoga place and tell me it's bland
They put raisins and peas in their ****ing curries here. Plus they add panner to mutton/meat curry. Its disgusting.

Well, it is the country that invented scheisse-porn - what do you expect? :D

I tried Irish beef. Will try Argentinian but its like 40 euro for a small piece.
Don't worry all the saffers are coming to an EU town near you soon! Before you know it EU will have more biltong than SA... Mainly because you won't have power in SA to make any... or power to make any meat...

Frikandel being a "dense" sausage that doesn't taste like much on it's own (google Frikandel Speciaal for the ultimate in Dutch cosine.. I **** you not, a shortage of workers at the Frikandel factory made the news because of supply concerns)

You should see the toppings they use.

At this point nowhere looks greener. Except maybe Iceland or Alaska. I'll go and hang out with the Inuit people and forget all of this ever existed.

I have to say that for the first couple of months here in Berlin we also used Lieferando a lot. We were pretty dissapointed with everything we tried with the exception of YogiHaus curries but even that isnt a patch on SA. That being said we have discovered some great places to eat. Yes the beef is not great but you CAN get good beef and if you do then for love of all that is holy, cook it yourself, at home.
In general i think German food is boring. Sure I havent been here for 12 years like you have but hey...at least we have electricity here I suppose. Hell you can eve get decent biltong from https://biltongfritze.de/ in fact he makes some good boerewors too. But can take some time to get the stuff.

Cool, let me try him. Its just so hard to find time to cook. Both the wife and work till late. I have to travel a lot with work which sucks (trying to find something else in the mean time). Plus after we pick up the kid from Kita, she takes priority. I think the biggest issue is the lack of varaity. Somedays I really crave a hot Portuguese chicken. Im still trying to find a good meat place. Tried a few butchers and online places. None of the meat seems to have any fat or taste to them (so far).

Edit: Just chatted to him so will be placing a few orders.
