still on for contact with overseas family and friends. I have contemplated leaving / deleting my account for the past year. It is a waste of time. I have removed the app along with fb messenger from my phone months ago and saved a lot on battery, data and time.

Deleted my account a long time ago and have never regretted it for a millisecond, faux social interaction is a terrible waste of time, much prefer real interaction which, ironically, is often hampered by social media.

How I wish I could flit from country to country visiting friends and family...

Yes, because an online game I played used Facebook as a platform. Now, mostly because of Allied Warbirds and Pilots of WWII

Yes. But didn't use it for a while because of all the communication and social activities taking place on whatsapp.

Yes I am. I go online to see what people are sharing (videos, latest news, recipes, etc. ). Oh and I chat to Woebot about my problems lol.

Yes. Keep in touch with overseas family & friends. Did a bike tour, used the biking groups to meet a whole bunch of new people, had people ride with us, show us the best passes in the different areas, best places to eat and stay - often stayed with random FB strangers at their insistence after a days riding.

Have business pages too, find it a good source of leads & income.

Yeah - It helps with keeping me updated with Friends birthdays - I basically "unfollow" everyone so we are friends but I don't see your updates - love the feature.

That is dangerous. It can (and probably will eventually) land up with you posting happy birthday to a person that is dead. I've seen that happen twice this year.

I am, but I haven't logged on in months. I can safely say that I do not miss it at all. The facade people present is toxic to ones well being.

Why are or aren't you on the platform?

I used to be on facebook 4-5 years ago but it was never for me, I enjoy having fun with a social network app but its good to talk about real issues every now and then and not just reading who's bored and who misses their partner.

Keeps me in touch with close family and a few friends. Very seldom post anything about the wide world.
