As much as I want the CE, because the EU is getting shafted by Anet (thus we are too), I reckon the Digital Edition is what I'm aiming at
You mean the Digital Deluxe? I'm just looking for local pricing on that... but haven't seen anything.
Oh the site is back up? Was down earlier.
Hoping it's available instore... R775 for a digital version is sort of expensive.

No, going to wait a few days first for things to settle down in SA. I have a feeling that some companies are not quite sure as to what is going on (besides BT Games).
I think BT Games is to be included in the "dufus list". A friend phoned them and they were pretty clueless about GW2, the CE or anything regarding.

That's heavy might have to wait a while to get the game.
A console game is cheaper :wtf:, where you get the disk and cover\book, and Sony or Microsoft take a large chunk of the cash.
Though the console market is much larger than the pc, so the pc developers need to make more from each game to make similar profit
And I'm sure a lot more work went into making Guild wars 2 than most console games out, so more worth the money in my view though it sucks.
With BF3 It was awesome the price was decent even with all the amount of work, innovation etc. on both the console and pc it was far cheaper than COD even though it was a much better game and doesn't resort to endless map packs through 1 year.
If only BF3 was better on console, it would have dethroned cod in sales then, a victory for all gamers including COD players
I'm sure they are now looking forward to next gen consoles though.
BF3 price was so low I believe cause it was trying to compete with COD, Guild wars is competing with Diablo(which launches before it btw, Im sure that's why they are even doing this strategy to get people to pre-order, get access to the beta events etc. before Diablo 3 releases) I think the price is to high and there profits will suffer cause of it.

The bonus that GW2 has is that you won't be playing it for just six months. GW1 came out in 2003 (iirc) and there are people that are still playing it... combine that and no subs and you've got a winning combo.

Right, so between Arenanet, BT games and Takealot, this is what we should do for today:
pre-purchase This one is only available today. BT Games has it in stock today, they said you should come to the store.
This one has the other beta event access and the hero-band, where the pre-order one has 1 day early access.
The bummer with the prepurchase is you don't get a dvd.

They are so confused it's not even funny. All the stores we've been phoning has been "uh... eish, dunno".
Yes, that's the SE btw. I have found no mention of Deluxe versions in SA.
Which one you buying? SE and CE is cheaper locally. DDE I'm not sure.
I'm just going to buy it from BT Games (Brooklyn) today. They actually know what's going on.

I would suggest to wait and see if the online stores get their act together concerning the pre-purchase, though BT Games do have it available. I do think BT Games will be a better bet to go with as contrary to other comments I found them pretty knowledgeable with what was and what was not available. Note there are two options on their site... the Guild Wars 2 banner advert, and then if you do a search for their GW2 product.

Phoned them, and BT Games (Brooklyn).
Getting it from BT Games because then I don't need to wait for the delivery. The downside to this is that there is no dvd to install from, so you need to download the entire game (understandable I suppose, since there would be updates anyways).
