Where I'm against it somewhat is the humans talking to AI front and getting results from that and in turn over time I think people will become even dumber and have less and less common sense. The amount of people I see asking Grok idiotic questions on Twitter that just required the tiniest but of critical thinking is already a great example of this but also hilarious when Grok gets it completely wrong and people believe it and roll with it.

Creativity wise I also have some concerns because on one hand now every man has tools they never had before and that will feed into new creative ideas that didn't exist before purely through accessibility, but at the same time professional creatives stand to lose out dramatically. Then again I can also see a future where movies and other artistic media will have an "artisanal" genre for being completely non-AI generated and therefore garnering a premium.

Just this week we had an issue that we struggled to get to the bottom of and ended up feeding it into ChatGPT collectively and while it ultimately lead us down the right track to a solution, there was so much bad and outdated information in there who someone without the background knowledge would have used incorrectly and potentially catastrophically.

Let's not even get started on journalism and the bot vs bot culture we are seeing where literally you have bots generating content for bots and no longer for human consumption...that side of it is entirely ridiculous.

100% agree on this. I also think that creativity, human intelligence and authenticity will take a knock. I am currently writing an article without the AI assistance, and have always written code mostly without the AI assistance - I do need to spend time trying to figure out what the issue(s) could be, and read the docs for clues.
 
I'm pro things being better.
But I was in this conference, guy from a company I use is there saying all the great things they do with AI and I'm like my man, you guys send me emails with links that don't go anywhere, send emails to my children knowing full well they're like 8 years old and can't be ar$sed to, I dunno, put a unicorn picture in it. So this AI you're talking about, great, how's about simply processing my request - you know, your core business?
 
I think we have barely scratched the surface of AI,
and sadly we haven't set limits on its knowledge and capabilities,

will the day come people use Ai to write Exams, it is already here,
will the day come people use AI to cheat anything and make people more dumb then they were already getting, very possible.

will idiocracy become reality, very probable,
is there some reason all of this stuff exists now and not at the dawn of the internet, also possible,
as its easier to wage shadow wars when there is people constantly fighting with machines and they are fighting back.

Sure - problem with this though is unforeseen consequences.
The guy who decided to put lead in petrol did so to solve a problem and it worked really well.

He also killed more people than anyone else in history.
 
I use copilot and chatggt quite a bit.

You have to remember, it’s garbage in, garbage out.

So whilst it is very helpful, you can’t trust it 100%

So if it’s for work purposes don’t hand results in as if it’s your own work.

Yeah I mean I'm not even looking for fancy a$$ AI to solve the world's problems; like, just a bit of basic I would go a long way.

Probably if you use it to better humanity. But we know why they really want AI, to replace Humanity.

Read a article not long ago saying if AI is so great why isn't people working less hours? Problem is now, people are getting retrenched because of AI and more work get handed to the few that's left and they need to work longer hours now.

You just can't win.

If very few people are employed, who will buy your product?
 
Maybe. I can see it being useful.

But right now, the main use seems to be flooding YouTube and many other sites with AI slop engagement bait. There is money to be made right now if you can develop a reliable AI slop blocker.
 
So a few weeks ago I was very skeptical mostly because I didn't see a use for myself where AI would be very useful.

Have played with a few newer tools since then and I would say I'm cautiously pro-AI in so much as I can see it doing a chunk of scaffolding for me and save me time in areas. I would definitely not trust it without human oversight though and that oversight is going to need to be experienced and knowledgeable in the area the AI is working for them.

Somewhat...don't like the job losses and kak that comes with it.

I also saw 1 too many movies on AI, specifically Skynet. I do not want to fall a level on the food chain.
