It doesn't apply to vaccines, which stimulate your immune system to fight the pathogen instead of directly fighting the pathogen for you.

It applies to an immune system that can suppress, but not defeat a threat.
A weak immune system allows the treat to overwhelm the organism (sometimes dying in the process).
A strong immune system defeats the threat (destroying it in the process).
A constantly weakening immune system allows for the threat to linger and mutate.

It's not your fault. The problem is, even with much proof of the extremes involved being regularly produced we still have too many turning a blind eye. And even some still convinced it's all legit.

And it's not just for profit, still haven't seen one good reason why a vaccine passport is needed. Very troubling times.

I've received an invite (Sisonke) but I'm waiting for now. Judging by the numbers of people going for the J&J booster I am not the only one.
 
Simple concerns, no expert opinion involved - the direction is abuse, there is no extreme emergency. Nothing wrong with taking health precautions, everything wrong with being conned into overdoing it.
You can't "overdo" a vaccine.

It provides your immune system with immunological memory of what is effective against that pathogen. That memory, for as long as you possess it, will always be effective against the variants of the pathogen it started off being effective against.
 
A superbug is a pathogen that has become resistant to drugs used to treat it. It's usually referring to things like anti-viral and antibiotic agents (things used to directly target the pathogen).

It doesn't apply to vaccines, which stimulate your immune system to fight the pathogen instead of directly fighting the pathogen for you.

Actually it does apply to vaccines because you have different strains emerging, some new strains are more resistant to current vaccines. Also we're mass vaccinating in the middle of a pandemic with high infectious pressure, not quite the same as vaccinating to prevent a future epidemic as a preventative measure. As more people get vaccinated against current dominant strain, it gives an advantage to the vaccine-resistant strains. Viruses constantly mutate in response to environmental constraints, such as growing immunity and response measures designed to limit transmission.

It's effect is too weak, so you need endless boosters. Except the threat is too small to start with, and natural immunity is already professionally believed good enough for most.

It's not the same. In the case of something like bacteria adapting to antibiotics it's usually the result of portions of the infection surviving an insufficient dose of the antibiotic. Those that survive are slightly more resistant. The more this happens over and over, the more resistant the bacteria becomes.

In the case of immune responses your body isn't leaving bits of that virus behind because we didn't use enough antibodies. Your immune system wipes it out. The variants that evade your immune system arise naturally as part of random mutations during replications, not in response to selective pressure from your immune system.

Those resistant variants will move to prominence in the landscape because the other variants couldn't bypass your immune system, but they didn't arise because of that pressure, unlike in the case of superbugs.

Again, you can't overuse vaccines. Those variants would have shown up with or without the vaccines.

There are vaccines that don't allow the person taking them to retain immunological memory for long. When last I read up on this experts in the field still didn't know why this happens. Boosters for vaccines are nothing new. You're perhaps not familiar with them because you haven't had to take the sorts of vaccines that require boosters. Most of our childhood ones don't.
 
I would say, yes, but only if necessary. Hence, I selected, "other". I have an idea that booster shots will be scoped in any case.

Vitamin C is essential for tissue growth, especially for your immune system. Gotta have it.

Getting sun is mostly just about getting vitamin D, it's not connected to fighting viruses as far as I'm aware, but it is important for your overall physiological health. I doubt anyone would say you shouldn't be getting sun. That it's going to cure your COVID... probably not.

Same logic can be applied to someone who is partially vaccinated, not enough to be fully immune but enough for the virus to replicate and mutate in that person, and as it spreads to the next partially vaccinated person the variant becomes slightly more resistant to the partial immunity, and that's how we end up with vaccine resistant variants because the virus will find away to adapt to the increasing immunity, the genetic mutations which escape that immunity will become more dominant until an updated vaccine is developed.
