Who's doing it?

What time are you going for?

I see Registration has been delayed today due to "Extreme Weather"

Doesn't bode well for the race...

Doing it with the wife this year. Shooting for 4:30 or so - starting way from the back.

What exactly does "extreme weather" entail? Not in Cape Town yet, but assuming wind?

Aiming for under 4:30, been injured and sick recently so training has been little to nonexistent.

07:38 start time though is not too bad.

Please no wind on the day....

Wind :(

4:30 seems like a decent target.

I was just over 3:30 for the 55km MTB. Not sure how that would translate to the road ride...

Starting at 09:42 & doing my second one. The last time I did it was in 2005 when 'gale force winds were recorded' according to the Argus magazine I received in the mail. Seems lightning is striking twice. I'm aiming for sub 6hrs. I'm not a cyclist (more a runner) but it should be fun.

Good luck to everyone doing it.

That weather advisory has got me doubting. My wife has been against this the closer the race has gotten. This is mainly due to my non existent road prep work. This weather advisory may turnout to be the nail in the tour coffin. I'm not in the greatest shape. Maybe the worst I've ever been in. Really wanted to do this. Really pissed off with myself.

See the route has been shortened. Due to the protests. Think I've decided to sit it out. Let the self loathing begin!

How's the fire looking?
Seems to be under control, was slowed substantially when I dropped off the last load of supplies last night 8pm. Can't see very well from here with tree positioning though.

Maybe I'm bad luck?! :wtf:
