Argus Cycle Tour 2010

I can't believe there is no CycleTour thread yet.
(oh wait there is one in Off Topic, but it's for the haters)

So here's a thread for people doing it this weekend.

It will be my first time, so any tips would be helpful.

I did this race in 95. Never again Im designed for comfort not speed. Its a great race, great fun... and Suikerbossie is a killa

Don't try any new stuff like energy gels or drinks that you might get at the registration expo - recipe for a disaster.

Just saw on Twitter that Malcolm Lange won a "massive" R16'000 for winning the Argus.

Effectively he won R1800.
R16'000 minus 10% management fees and then divided between 8 team riders.

That is pretty shocking. Imagine Lance won the Argus and got R16'000.

next year is an option.... but some good advice would be to start cycling asap, and do some races to get a PPA seeding...otherwise youll be start rather late.....

What's bad is not making the 16:00 cutoff at the bottom of chapmans.
30km to go.
All the suffering for nothing, can't even say I finished.

Woke up in Bantry Bay and it was dead silent... no indication at all of the hell that was pummeling people out there. Shame the train came past so fast I couldn't even spot Lance.
