Just got a copy myself...much prefer it to the previous ones and also Dragon Rising. Anyone playing it online?

Never tried it, pitty the first Arma 2 had to run so poorly. I really loved it but spent countless hours trying to get it to run smoothly.

Yeah its a pitty about the engine...the games soo good but theres still lots of things wrong with it. Like if you shoot someone while hes prone and about to stand up, he stands up first and then falls over :/ ...pitty its not smooth like COD or even BF

And climbing ladders suck; and getting into vehicles is buggy;and the AI driving bites hard and and and...

They should take the 'Porsche' aproach to Arma.

I've got Arrowhead but haven't got around to playing it yet.

My Arma2 is still totally vanilla but I'd get OA if it's any good. Looking to do a bit of PvP with a mate who's just bought the game since you need like one point twenty one terrabytes of addons to play on any of the local servers.

The game is crazy-good but for me the worst part is the voice acting. Is there a way to kill the ai voice responses and just keep the on-screen text instead? Or even an improved addon for this? If there's any addon I'd gladly download, it'd be one that fixed the freakin' voices. "EnemyMEN...and...APC TO...ourREAR...FAR!" WTF?! Serious immersion killer that. Even the original Flashpoint's voices were infinitely better and they actually gave you accurate information. Wish they'd just kept those.

Its basically exactly the same engine wise as the previous. Its more of an expansion than a new game...but they have changed TONS of crap. If you enjoyed the others, definately get this AAAANND the patches, updating your gpu would be a good idea. Game was released with tons of bugs

EDIT: I found some help on tweaking your pc for Arma2 - http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=101124

EDIT2: I did a few tweaks as suggested and my game is sooo much smoother now, if you are having perfomance issues I suggest trying some of the config tweaks mentioned in the above link and also from here - http://www.jeffpinard.com/OA_graphic_settings.jpg

P.S. Dont buy this game if you want to play it solely for the campain and single missions...MP yes, but the single player missions are quite irritating compared to previous releases and its extremely short.
